Free-standing, in a sunny and quiet location in the centre of Saas-Almagell, you will find the Hotel Mattmarkblick which is located at a mere 2 minute walk from the cable cars and ski slopes.

The recreational area of Saas-Almagell with the Almagell Lake, the mini-golf course and the new children’s playing area are located in the immediate vicinity. The village centre is only 50m away, which is where you will find the bus stop, postal office, grocery shops and sports shops.

The most beautiful walking and hiking trails start at the main village square. The skiing areas are easily reached with the special bus. From Saas-Fee you can ski all the way back to Saas-Almagell over the forest trail.

Arrival by car (3 Options)

  1. Highway Basel-Bern-Thun-Spiez / continue to Kandersteg / car train to Goppenstein, followed by Visp-Stalden-Saas. Fastest option.
  2. Highway Basel-Bern-Montreux-Martinach-Sierre, along Kantonsstrasse to Visp-Saastal.
  3. From East and Central Switzerland over the Furka and Grimsel Pass (open from mid-June to end October). During the winter by car train through the Furka Tunnel.

The road accross the Saas Valley is well accessible during the winter but special winter tires are to be used.

Arrival by train

The Saas Valley is easily accessible by train through the new Lötschbergtunnel. Get off at the train station in Visp and take the Postauto (local bus) straight to Saas-Fee/Saastal. There are hourly connections until 20.15pm departing from Visp. If you are travelling to Saas-Almagell, change in Saas-Grund (Postplatz). Our Hotel is located in the village centre of Saas-Almagell next to the bus stop Post.

Deliver your luggage 2 days prior to your departure from home to the train station, we will happily collect it from the counter at the postal office. This will ensure that your luggage will be waiting for you when you arrive at the Hotel Mattmarkblick.

From Bern to Saas-Almagell 2 hours,
from Basel or Zürich to Saas-Almagell 3 hours.
